Wind uplift tearing shingles loose
Why it happens here
Summer thunderstorms push 60 to 70 mph gusts across Westwood, and older shingles with brittle tabs cannot hold. The wind gets under the edge and peels the shingle back, exposing the nails and underlayment.
Our approach
We re-nail lifted shingles with six fasteners per tab and check the ridge and hip caps, which are the first to fail. On replacements, we use shingles rated for higher wind speeds.
